Little Box of Happiness

In the times we are in we need to make sure we look after ourselves and others. This has brought me onto creating my new product.

This week I have launched a new product: A Little Box of Happiness. It contains a selection of items to help calm, de-stress and make you smile!

There is:

A flower to make you smile

A lavender bag to calm you

A soap to wash away your stress

A cup of tea to relax you

It would be a great ‘pick me up’ for yourself, or as a gift for someone special.

Felt sunflower

Felted soap

Lavender pouch

x2 herbal tea bags

It can be purchased here from my website or my shop page at

RBSA Prize Exhibition.

Today I went into Birmingham to hand in my felted pot for the RBSA Prize Exhibition. Quite exciting as this is the first time a piece of my work has been selected for show.

The exhibition is on 8th October – 21st November at the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham. There is the option to view in person, or to view online.

Exhibiting in Birmingham

Earlier on this year i placed an application to exhibit at The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists at their RBSA Prise 2020 Exhibition. So, last week i received an email saying my work had been accepted! This has been a really nice and unexpected surprise!

The exhibition is on 8th October – 21st November at the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham. There is the option to view in person, or to view online.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside….

Earlier on this year i completed an online course by an amazing felt artist Pam De Groot. I have always been fascinated by her work and how she creates the things she does. One module of the course was on how to make a shell spiral. Quite technical and involved maths (something i haven’t done for a while!)

Here is my take- approximately 30cm in length – it was fun to do and im sure i will be making more!

So, the last 4 months have been filled with a variety of emotion.  A lot of difficult days.  My felting has given me much relief.  Today i have updated my gallery with some of the work i have done. I have also update my shop pages on The British Craft House and Etsy (Links in shop page)

With events now staring to occur, i am pleased to be able to attend a number of events during September; Hatton Country World and Coombe Abbey.

In the coming weeks / months i will be looking to book into some events around Christmas.

Here is a picture of one of my projects that im working on, a giant hare.  The size of this will be almost 1m.  The largest pieces of work to date.  Its going to take a while to complete!

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Today I have launched my mental health and well-being page on my website. Mental Health is something I am really passionate about having had severe depression and anxiety; still batting through!

Crafting is a great outlet to improve mental health and well-being ticking 4 out of 5 of the NHS 5 steps to mental well-being.

In conjunction with this I am aiming to post a ‘positive quote of the day’ on a daily basis on twitter to bring some positive vibes to your day!

Have a great day. X

The British Craft House

Today I have found out my application to join The British Craft House has been accepted. Excited to sell my products on a new platform.

The Great British Craft House sells “the Best of British Crafts that are made by artisan, independent designers. To promote The British Craft House to the wider community, so that the discerning shoppers and talented makers are united.  To provide an environment where sellers can help and support each other, especially on social media and shoppers can find the most thoughtful, unique, high-quality products”

Experimental week

This week I have been experimenting with resists…. multiple resists. I’ve always wanted to make a seed / pod inspired by nature. I started with marking a 6 sided resist, adding wool via a book format. Once it was opened out I was able to add shape to the side. When dry I added wool locks to look like moss and mud. Quite pleased with the end result.

Website updated!

Today has been a busy day finally updating my website.  I have added pages on the felting process and different types of fibre that can be felted with.

I have also updated the events page!  I am displaying my products at St Mary’s Church Hall, Hobs Moat, Solihull, B92 8PN on the 30th November. This is through a company Ultimate Girls Night Out, Vintage Christmas Fayre.  1pm – 4pm

Hope to see you there!
